How It Started

A Small Walk. A Big Beginning.

The story of Bridge to Hope began with a simple idea: people helping people right here at home.

2005

The First Walk

The first cancer walk brought together approximately 50 people and raised about $800.

20+ Years

A Community Tradition

What began as an event focused on breast cancer awareness has grown into a community-wide effort supporting people facing all types of cancer.

Today

Hundreds Gather

Hundreds of people continue to come together each year for the Bridge to Hope Cancer Walk.

Always

From the beginning, Bridge to Hope has believed that money raised in our community should stay in our community. Our commitment to this goal us brought us to where we are today.

More Than a Walk

The Bridge to Hope Cancer Walk is about far more than raising money. It is about standing beside someone during one of the most difficult times of their life.

Over the years, Bridge to Hope has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in direct assistance to local individuals and families.

Community support has helped with the everyday expenses that can become overwhelming during cancer treatment.

Help When It Matters Most

Cancer doesn't put life on pause.

Bills still arrive. Cars still need repairs. Families still need groceries. Patients still need to get to treatment.

Bridge to Hope works to ease some of those burdens. Assistance is personalized to the needs of the individual or family.

People seeking help are not required to prove their income or navigate complicated processes to receive assistance.

And the help doesn’t stop with a single donation. Bridge to Hope continues to be there throughout a person’s cancer journey, providing additional assistance when needed.

“When someone hears the words ‘You have cancer,’ the need for compassion doesn’t depend on their financial circumstances.”
